The Green Man from DC changed a Justice League warrior into a member of the Bat-Family. The Bat-Family is one of the most important family groups in comics. They keep Gotham safe without having any abilities. In the three-issue miniseries JLA: Act of God, most of Earth’s heroes lost their powers. But one Justice Leaguer who used to be very powerful changed a lot when he became a part of the Bat-Family.
JLA: Act of God was written by Doug Moench and drawn by Dave Ross. It came out for the first time in 2000. Most heroes have lost their skills to an unknown force. Only heroes who use technology are left standing. The heroes still want to protect the world no matter what, even though they have lost their skills. Batman, who didn’t lose his power, senses this and agrees to train some heroes who did lose their power, like the Martian Manhunter, who is stuck in his alien form.
Because J’onn wants to be like everyone else, he joins Batman’s “Phoenix Group” as “the Green Man.”
What the Bat-Family Lost, the Martian Manhunter Gained
A Batman-Martian Manhunter Teamup Would Work Well
The loss of his abilities rendered the Martian Manhunter unable to blend in with human society, which was a devastating blow to him. In JLA: Act of God, the Martian Manhunter lost a lot of skills, including shape-shifting. Although Superman and the Martian Manhunter are often contrasted in terms of strength and power, the Martian Manhunter possesses other talents that Superman lacks, such telepathy. The Martian Manhunter has, with a few of significant exceptions, been an integral part of the Justice League from its inception. Superpowers or no superpowers, the Martian Manhunter remains a DC legend.
A significant shift for the Martian Manhunter occurred when he lost all of his powers and had to depend on his physical strength to battle crime. Thankfully, he had Batman, a top martial artist in the DC Universe, to guide him. The Martian Manhunter finds himself again, this time with a darker side, thanks to the Dark Knight’s influence. He rediscovers what makes him a hero. Another difference for J’onn, who typically shuns weaponry, was his use of skull-shaped tools while he was a member of the Phoenix Group. He changed his identity so drastically that it was shocking.

The Martian Manhunter, Whatever You Call Him, Is a Superhero
Despite taking up a new identity as the “Green Man” and a different strategy in his struggle against crime, the Martian Manhunter’s noble spirit remained unwavering. Certainly, J’onn’s tactics did go darker while he was mentored by Batman. He brought up the idea of utilizing his Martian look to expose criminals, a tactic that was borrowed directly from Batman’s playbook. Although the Martian Manhunter’s chances of joining the Bat-Family are low due to JLA: Act of God’s non-continuity status, the series demonstrated that this Justice League mainstay had the enthusiasm and attitude necessary to become a member.
