The Iron Claw, slated for release in theaters by A24 in December 2023, delves into the story of the Von Erich family, featuring a star-studded cast including Jeremy Allen White, Zac Efron, Harris Dickinson, and Holt McCallany. Despite its critical acclaim, the film was notably snubbed by major award ceremonies like the Academy Awards. When questioned about The Iron Claw’s absence from the nominations list while representing The Bear at the SAG Awards, White expressed that what truly matters to him is the personal experience he had while working on the film, and he remains proud of the positive reception it garnered from fans.
“I’m not entirely sure,” White confessed. “The recognition is nice, and it’s validating. Putting in the hard work and receiving acknowledgment is rewarding. However, so much of it is out of our hands. For me, the essence of it all lies in the journey, the rewarding experience, and the camaraderie with my fellow colleagues. That, to me, is the real triumph. Beyond that, it’s unpredictable what will strike a chord with the audience. I grasp that what resonates with people is unpredictable. So, I’m at peace with it.”
Reflecting on The Iron Claw’s overall reception, White remarked, “Nonetheless, I feel The Iron Claw has performed admirably. I take immense pride in it, and the fact that it attracted a substantial audience brings me joy.”

White was bestowed with a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in “The Bear.” His co-star, Ayo Edebiri, also secured the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series award. Ebon Moss-Bachrach, known for his role in Fantastic Four, was a fellow nominee in the same category as White. White has additionally clinched a Primetime Emmy Award and two Golden Globes for his stellar performance in the show.
