A character relationship chart for the upcoming drama “Lovely Runner” has been unveiled!
“Lovely Runner” is a new time-slip romantic drama that explores the question: “What would you do if you had the opportunity to save your ultimate bias?” It is based on a famous web book and was written by Lee Si Eun, who is known for “True Beauty.” Kim Hye Yoon plays the role of Im Sol, a die-hard admirer who travels through time to save Ryu Sun Jae, played by Byun Woo Seok, after she learns of his tragic end.
Im Sol and Ryu Sun Jae are unexpectedly identified as lovers on the recently issued relationship chart, even though their current connection is simply that of a famous celebrity and his follower. When will their relationship go beyond that of an idol and fan to that of a loving partner?
Aside from that, the poster claims that Im Sol’s former prejudice is Song Geon Hee’s character, bassist Kim Tae Sung. What may have transpired between Kim Tae Sung, Ryu Sun Jae, and Im Sol is left to the imagination as it suggests a tense connection between the two main characters.
We meet Ryu Sun Jae and his best friend Baek In Hyuk, played by Lee Seung Hyub, who were both band leaders in high school and are now the frontmen of the band Eclipse. Ryu Sun Jae’s relationship with Kim Tae Sung and Baek In Hyuk is tense because they were bandmates in high school. “Lovely Runner” promises, among other things, a deep dive into the complicated dynamics of the high school friendships of Ryu Sun Jae, Kim Tae Sung, and Baek In Hyuk.
Im Sol and Ryu Sun Jae’s families are also introduced in the relationship chart. Park Bok Soon, played by Jung Young Joo, is a formidable woman who, following the death of her husband, reared her sons, Im Sol and Geum, (Song Ji Ho), alone for a decade. There are signs that Park Bok Soon’s connection with Ryu Geun Duk, Ryu Sun Jae’s father, is strained (Kim Won Hae), and that Im Geum’s relationship with Lee Hyun Joo, Im Sol’s best friend (Seo Hye Won), is stressful as well. Another thing that fans can look forward to in the drama is the relationships between Im Sol’s family members, such as her grandma Jung Mal Ja (Sung Byung Sook).
Lastly, the chart showcases members of Ryu Sun Jae’s management organisation, JNT Entertainment, including Ahn Sang Woo as JNT CEO Kim, Lee Il Joon as Sun Jae manager Park Dong Seok, Moon Yong Suk as Eclipse member Hyun Soo, and Yang Hyuk of OMGA X as Jay.
“Lovely Runner” premieres on April 8 at 8:50 p.m. KST and will be available on Viki.
